Friends of Badlands Art Association

Dear Friend of Badlands Art,

Could you please help an aging art association, stricken by the effects of Covid-19?
Like many arts organizations struggling to maintain an art budget through this pandemic, we unfortunately did not receive any of the grants for this year and need financial support.

Our goal is to raise $3,500.00 which would help pay for our annual art show expenses. We are asking you, our generous community for financial help.

This year, the Badlands Arts Association celebrates our 50th Anniversary as an art organization and the 50th presentation of area artists and visual arts with the annual BAA Art Show in Dickinson. This year’s show is scheduled for November 13-15, 2020 at the Roosevelt Grand Dakota Hotel, Dickinson, North Dakota.

Throughout the year, we prepare for the show and budget for expenses. We incur expenses with printing, mailings, advertising, printing ribbons, reimbursing our judge for his/her expertise and expenses, covering three days rent for the event room. We typically cover these expenses with art grants, but this year, we did not receive any of the grants. This is why we need your financial support. We do receive some monies from entries, but we try to keep our entry fees low to benefit the artists. We do not expect the fees to cover our expenses.

The arts are the voice of our community and culture.  Our daily lives have been influenced by an artist in every aspect of our lives.  We would like to continue in encouraging the artists throughout our area, both the very young and those of us who are “seasoned” in the art world.

Badlands Art Association is dedicated to promoting the visual arts in western North Dakota. The Badlands Art Show is a wonderful mix of visual art: sculpture, carvings, pottery, fiber art, drawings, paintings in all media, and photography.  The show features an adult division, an amateur adult division as well as a student division for grades k-12.

Badlands Art Association (BAA) was founded in 1970 by community artists.  Since 1970, Badlands Art Association has organized an annual judged fine art show with money and ribbon awards.

From everyone on the BAA team, thank you for your support.

** We can also accept bank transfers.
