BAA 2019 Summer Art Workshop

Watercolor Pours & Negative Painting with Jennifer Stone

Hey western North Dakota here’s a great way to kick off the summer! Join the BAA in June for a three-day art workshop. All artists, from beginner to advanced will find fun and unique art techniques that they can incorporate into their own artworks.

Sign up now for BAA’s Summer 2019 Workshop

Thursday – Saturday, June 20 to 22, 2019
Dickinson, ND

Every work of art starts with a blank piece of paper. Every artist has experienced the fear of “how to start” when faced with that white slate. This three-day workshop will provide fun and unique techniques for any artist to incorporate into his or her current processes as well as easy techniques for beginning artists to build their artistic practice.

This workshop offers techniques that you will not find anywhere else. All artists, from beginner to advanced will find something new and unique.

Jennifer’s workshops are always highly motivational; giving artists the freedom to try something that they can use in any type of work. More about Jennifer Stone.

Topics covered
Watercolor pours and negative painting. Students will learn a pouring technique, a process of several steps of pouring diluted watercolor on watercolor paper. Each layer of paint is allowed to dry in between pours, leaving random marks of paint and white shapes left to offer a base that can be achieved no other way. She will teach how to mix the color with the correct ratio of water and paint, the steps in pouring, and how to execute a painting from the pour using a negative and positive approach.

In all of Jennifer’s workshops, she adds new things that she has picked up along her own artistic journey, so each one offers a few surprises, even for her!

$199 (plus supplies) for all three days!
