This exhibit is created for photography only. It is open to all artists and features BAA artists.

HOW TO ENTER
Artists planning to submit their photographs must deliver their entry to the museum starting January 13th to 24th. Hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday thru Saturday. Please note that the Museum is closed on January 18th and 20th for Martin Luther King Day. Please use the Dinosaur Museum front doors for delivering your art pieces.

Sign up now for BAA’s Summer 2019 Workshop

Thursday – Saturday, June 20 to 22, 2019
Dickinson, ND

Every work of art starts with a blank piece of paper. Every artist has experienced the fear of “how to start” when faced with that white slate. This three-day workshop will provide fun and unique techniques for any artist to incorporate into his or her current processes as well as easy techniques for beginning artists to build their artistic practice.

This workshop offers techniques that you will not find anywhere else. All artists, from beginner to advanced will find something new and unique.

Jennifer’s workshops are always highly motivational; giving artists the freedom to try something that they can use in any type of work. More about Jennifer Stone.

Topics covered
Watercolor pours and negative painting. Students will learn a pouring technique, a process of several steps of pouring diluted watercolor on watercolor paper. Each layer of paint is allowed to dry in between pours, leaving random marks of paint and white shapes left to offer a base that can be achieved no other way. She will teach how to mix the color with the correct ratio of water and paint, the steps in pouring, and how to execute a painting from the pour using a negative and positive approach.

In all of Jennifer’s workshops, she adds new things that she has picked up along her own artistic journey, so each one offers a few surprises, even for her!

$199 (plus supplies) for all three days!

This workshop qualifies for 1 CEU through UND for K-12 art teachers. $50 for credit hour will be paid directly to UND: Reference Session Number*: 19.0361. Download the MS Word form here: Watercolor Pours CEU Credits 7.19
