2018 BAA show details

The Purchase Award Preview is a special reception that will be held on Friday evening November 9th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. At the preview we invite all who are considering buying works of art to view the show and submit bids (in a silent auction) for the artworks of their choice. The minimum bid is the asking price of the artist. Bid blanks must be turned in at the front desk no later than 9:00 pm Friday. The highest bid (above the asking price) will be the successful bidder.

Basket Auction
Friday and Saturday, November 9th and 10th, BAA will be hosting a basket auction. We are looking for people interested in donating a basket for the auction. These baskets can be filled with items ranging from jellies & jams to art pieces or art supplies. BAA will be raffling off an original Michael Dunn watercolor during this same time.

Art in Action
Art in Action will take place on Sunday, November 11th from 2pm to 3pm during the November Art Show. Artists bring your sketchbooks, pallets, clay, pencils, pastels, or whatever medium you choose and gather around a fall still life for an hour of quick draw. In the past, art in action has been a very popular event within the November art show. So come and join in on the fun.

7am – 5pm Hand delivered works due at Ramada Grand Dakota Lodge
Large works before noon, please.

Friday, Nov. 9
Judging, NO VISITORS
6 pm – 9pm Opening Reception for artists and public. Silent auction.

Saturday, Nov. 10
10am – 4 pm Show hours
11:30 am Empty Bowls fundraising event

Sunday, Nov. 11
12 pm – 4pm Show hours
2 pm – 2 pm Art in Action
4pm  Buyers receive purchased art
4:15 pm PICK UP ENTRIES

The 2018 Badlands Art Association’s 48th Annual Fall Art Show will be November 9th through November 11th at the Ramada Grand Dakota Lodge. The judge for this years’ show is Ali Hein who is a Professor of Art at Bismarck State College.

The Nature of Water Media (Acrylics) workshop will take the participants on a journey of exploration and experimentation with water-based mediums. Techniques will include transparent, translucent, and opaque applications.

Michael Dunn is a lifelong teacher and artist. He is a dynamic instructor, willing to work with each participant and he will encourage you in your next steps as a developing artist.
